I went down to my Local Agricultural Community Exchange
I had to fly 1500 miles cuz I had a silent auction to arrange
I’d love to get to do it right here in my own town
But Whole Foods ate Wild Oats and they’re throwing their weight around
Still I’d like to get to go down to my Local Agricultural Community Exchange.
We’ve got the Farmer’s Market and a whole bunch of cool organic CSA’s
And there’s no shortage of road side stands selling farm produce through the Autumn days
But what we don’t have is that year round sense of place
That comes from a having a multi-use space
Yeah I wish we had a Local Agricultural Community Exchange.
Our local co op struggles against the mighty “organic” chains
Whose food is so overpriced “Whole Paycheck” is the favorite nickname
For a store with a bunch of serious health department complaints
They’re sure not local and their pet food was pulled during the nationwide taint
Oh I miss Alfalfa’s and I wish we had a Local Agricultural Community Exchange.
